Honoring the Mothers Who Shape Our Lives: A Mother's Day Tribute from the Senior Allies Team

Motherhood shows up in everyday ways through love, support, and showing up when it matters most. At Senior Allies, we are grateful for the mothers and mother figures who helped shape who we are today. This Mother’s Day, we’re sharing a few personal reflections from our team.

The Rock of the Family

Luke Hockaday, Licensed Agent

For Luke, his mom has always been the steady foundation of his family. A mother of four and grandmother to seven, she has never missed a game of her children or grandchildren.

“She never missed one of my games and never misses a grandkid’s game. She’s the best CeCe to our kids.”

Luke proudly admits he’s still a “Momma’s boy,” talking with her nearly every day.

Her constant presence, love, and support have shaped generations and continue to be a source of strength and connection for the entire family.

A Legacy of Selflessness

Joe Auvil, Licensed Agent

Joe reflects on the powerful example set by both his mother and  mother-in-law. These two women have always put others before themselves. Their selflessness has left a lasting impression, shaping how Joe views what really matters and the love he has for his family.

Joe also shares his admiration for his wife, Megan, whose dedication to their children is something he witnesses every day.

“She has sacrificed so much time and effort to love and care for our kids. I suspect this is just what all good moms do—but it’s amazing to watch it up close.”

Whether holding their “messy” baby, Ellie, or sitting proudly with Arty in the big red chair, Megan’s devotion is a beautiful picture of love, patience, and heart. A snapshot of what motherhood looks like to her every day.

A Lasting Example

Sandi Boonenberg, Licensed Agent

For Sandi, her mom has always been both her best friend and guiding light, especially when it comes to her career. Sandi’s mother began her work in the insurance industry in her twenties under her father’s (Sandi's grandfather) guidance.

She built a 30-year career through dedication, persistence, and hard work, earning numerous awards and accomplishments along the way.

Yet, the most meaningful lessons she passed down went far beyond the professional world.

“She taught me not only how to navigate a career, but how to live with strong values, approach life with intention, and become the kind of mother I strive to be every day.

Through her example, I’ve learned patience, resilience, steadiness, and the power of unconditional love.”

Everything Sandi knows about motherhood and raising her son, with another son soon to join their family, has been shaped by her mom’s influence. She reflects honestly on motherhood as a journey that is both beautiful and messy; challenging and deeply rewarding.

“Above all, I remain grateful for my mom’s constant presence.”

She shares her appreciation for the strength, wisdom, and steady light her mom continues to provide, shaping generations with grace and love.

Love That Lives On

Rochelle McAtee, Customer Success Rep

Rochelle speaks about her late mother, who she remembers as not only an amazing mom, but her best friend. Mother’s Day was always a celebration filled with love, flowers, and meaningful moments.

“She always said you could never have too many flowers.”

Her mother’s faith, kindness, and generosity live on through Rochelle and the lessons she now teaches her own three children.

One rule in particular continues to guide her family: “You treat others how you want them to treat you.”

Although her mother passed away in 2007, Rochelle honors her every day and celebrates the blessing of gaining another mother figure in her life through her boyfriend’s mom, Kay.

Kay stepped in with unconditional love, warmth, and acceptance. She filled a space Rochelle didn’t even realize was still aching.

“She welcomed me into her family and loves me unconditionally. She is truly one of my biggest blessings.”

This Mother’s Day, Rochelle honors both a mother in heaven and a mother here on earth. In her eyes, two women who exemplify love in its purest form.

Strength Passed Through Generations

Kaylie Weideman, Customer Success Rep

Kaylie credits her mother, Rhonda, for shaping her into the woman and mother she is today.

“My mom is the reason I believe in myself the way I do.”

Rhonda’s strength, independence, and confidence have been a constant source of inspiration. She is always present, always supportive, and endlessly loving, not just to Kaylie, but to the entire family.

Kaylie has said she truly wouldn’t be the person she is today, or the mother she is to her son Oakley, without her mom.

“As my Papo would say, ‘I wouldn’t trade my mom for a farm in Texas. Love you, Momma!”

Strength, Sacrifice, and Dedication

Carlee Emberton, Customer Success Rep

Carlee recognizes her mom, Ella, as the strongest and hardest-working woman she’s ever known. Growing up, Ella modeled resilience and determination in a powerful way. She worked full time to provide for her family, while also going back to school.

“That alone speaks volumes about her strength.”

Through every challenge, Ella always put her children first, never giving up even when life felt overwhelming. Her actions taught Carlee that anything is possible with heart, perseverance, and commitment.

More than anything, Ella has always been a constant to Carlee, offering guidance, encouragement, and unconditional love.

“She has been by my side through everything, and I know she always will be.”

A Love That Never Changes

Karlee McAtee, Customer Success Rep

Karlee reflects on the love of her mom, one that doesn’t fade with time, age, or independence.

“There are a thousand ways to say, ‘thank you,’ but none ever seem big enough when it comes to my mom.”

No matter how much life changes, her mom remains the first call for both celebrations and heartaches.

She is her biggest cheerleader, best listener, and, when needed, a voice of truth.

“Mother’s Day is a reminder, but my gratitude isn’t just for today. It’s for every day you chose me, supported me, and never let me doubt your love.”

With heartfelt gratitude, Karlee honors her mom not just for who she is, but for her constant and unwavering love.

“I’m so lucky to be your daughter. Love you, Mom!”

Conclusion

These stories remind us that motherhood isn’t just about titles. It’s about showing up, standing firm, loving fiercely, and leaving a legacy that echoes through generations.

From all of us at Senior Allies, we wish a Happy Mother’s Day to the moms, grandmas, stepmoms, mother figures, and heavenly mothers who continue to inspire us!
