Sue Croft has dedicated more than two decades to the Medicare insurance industry, beginning her career in June 2004 after working as a Registered Investment Advisor. Her transition into the field was driven by a pivotal moment in her community when Rubatex, a longtime employer in Bedford, Virginia, declared bankruptcy. The fallout left hundreds of workers and retirees without essential benefits, including healthcare, prescription coverage, and pensions. Witnessing the widespread confusion and hardship, especially among older residents who faced significant Medicare penalties, Sue felt called to step in. At a time when many agents focused on higher premiums, she committed herself to finding affordable, accessible solutions, helping introduce one of the region’s earliest Medicare Advantage plans and educating both medical providers and residents.
Throughout her career, Sue has been deeply committed to protecting her clients from financial hardship, particularly medical bankruptcy. She has taken pride in offering practical, cost-efficient options, such as Medicare Advantage and High Deductible Supplement plans, ensuring that her clients could secure meaningful coverage without overwhelming costs. Her work has always extended beyond insurance policies, as she has assisted countless individuals with Medicaid applications and various assistance programs, often going above and beyond to meet their needs. Known in her community for her compassion and reliability, many came to trust her not only as an advisor but as a steadfast advocate. Her most meaningful moments have come from personal connections, such as reuniting with a couple she had prayed for and being able to provide them with the coverage they desperately needed.
Now preparing for retirement after facing significant health challenges, Sue reflects on a career that never felt like work, but rather a true calling. She credits her deep sense of purpose and the relationships she built with clients for bringing her lasting joy and fulfillment. As she transitions to retirement, she has entrusted her clients to Senior Allies, a company she carefully selected for its values, expertise, and commitment to service. With gratitude and confidence, Sue leaves behind a legacy defined by integrity, compassion, and unwavering dedication to the people she served.
